CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Obituary of Glen Allan Bell
Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Monday November 10, 2025, just 2 days shy of his 86th birthday. Predeceased by his loving wife Shirley (June 2011). Loved father of Danny (Leanne), John (Lisa), and Tim (Linda). Dear grandfather of Travis. Brother of Mervyn (Iris) and predeceased by his brother Morley. Dear uncle of Marcia Bell. Brother-In-Law of Peter Brault, Norine Hutchinson, and June Pearson-Young. Predeceased by his brothers-in-law Tom Hutchinson, and George Pearson and by his sister-in-law Grace Barranger (late Bill). Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Glen put the love of his family first, then farming. He still got a kick out of watching the calves run around jumping and bucking every spring. Glen spent many years in the employ of the Ministry of Transportation, making sure our roads were in good shape. He won numerous safe driving awards in competitions between the various Districts. He was a dedicated volunteer for many years with the Coldwater Minor Hockey Association, the Coldwater Men’s Rec Hockey League and enjoyed playing a round or two of golf.
Glen requested cremation and the family will honour him with a celebration of life at the Coldwater Legion on Sunday December 7th from 1-5pm.
Glen will be buried alongside his wife Shirley at Hobart Cemetery in the Spring of 2026.
As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Glen may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Charity of Your Choice and may be made through the funeral home.
