Make New Friends”
Make new friends, but always keep the old
One is Silver, the other I’d Gold
A circle is round, it has no end, that’s how long, I will be your friend.
A fire burns bright, it warms the heart.
We’ve been friends, from the very start.
You have one hand, I have the other, put them together, we have each other.
Silver is precious, Gold is too, I am precious, and so are you
You help me, and I’ll help you and together We will see it through
The sky is blue, The Earth I’d green, I can help to keep it clean.
Across the land, Across the sea, Friends forever We will always be.
Friendship is a Golden Thread, weaving through our lives
It binds us together
The days that lie ahead, I hope each of you have a friend you can embrace I am so lucky to have such a special friend.
When you look out on Georgian Bay and you see a glimmer and twinkle, that will be the Golden Thread of the memory of our friends, mom, grandmother, and wife, to my friend Holly.

A very special person that will be missed dearly.
Wonderful memories of our summers together at the cottage and getting a little emotional seeing the "Big Rock" and the bay on the drive down to the family picnic every year. I know you will still be with us on that day when I ask "where's Holly"......

Holly Denise (Hamilton) Norris
My little sister I knew must be something special –she had her own room, while us boys had to double up and triple up.
She probably wasn’t pleased when I left her wedding reception early, heck I was the goalie, what else could I do? She was a big-time hockey fan, I knew she would understand.
Sports was her passion, she was a dedicated, I might say rabid Leafs and Blue Jays fan. But i think her true love (after Barry) was tea – she always seemed to have a cup of tea in her hand.
Holly was always thoughtful , she always sent me a Jacquie Lawson animated greetingI’ card on every special occasion, she never missed one.
I’ll miss my “little sister” sorely, but I’ll take solace in all the good times we shared together usually with family.
Bye Holly until we meet again,
Love, your brother Rob

To Barry, Joel, Todd, and the rest of the family.
It was with great shock and sadness that I read of Holly’s passing yesterday. Holly was a bright and shining light in our hockey ‘family’. She was unashamedly proud of her ‘3’ boys and celebrated their accomplishments as any parent would, but in a world of ‘me me me’ Holly seemed to genuinely enjoy and equally celebrate the accomplishments of all of the kids on the team, and in the organization. Her joy was genuine and heart felt. When I saw her a few times after our minor hockey days ended, first at Christie Mills and then last year at Coldwater Arena (where she was back at her familiar spot by the glass, cheering on her grandchildren), she greeted me with that brilliant smile and a hug, and we were immediately transported back in time, reminiscing and catching up on what the kids were up to. We shared the same southern Etobicoke neighbourhood growing up, and although our paths never crossed then, she loved discovering the families we both knew as teenagers.
Thank you Holly for being the shining example of what parental support should be in kids sports….. not only for your children, but for every member of the organization.
Our sincere condolences to every member of her family. Your loss is shared by the community at large.

Barry, Todd & Shawna, Joel & Nickie, Cal, Olivia & Tucker...Holly was so proud of you all. Anyone who knew Holly is aware of how generous, thoughtful, strong, my words could go on forever, she was that beautiful! We met through our children a long time ago & I have been grateful for Holly ever since. I have four brothers & Holly also had brothers only so to me she was my sister. I remember when our first grandson was born, after a long delivery I left the hospital & everything was fine. During the night our baby had to be airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital. Holly came to our home the next day, saw how upset I was & asked "what do you need?". I told her "I need to see & hold our grandson". Without any hesitation she said "okay, let's go", we left for the city & I was able to hold our grandson for the first time. That was just the way Holly was. I will miss her forever, but these memories remind me of how special she was. This past winter we have had cloudy skies due to the endless snow, but on the day that the angels welcomed Holly, I saw blue patches in the sky & truly believe that is Holly clearing the way to help us smile again. All our condolences to her entire family. Love, Debbie & Charlie Russell

I will never forget the time I got taken into secondary checks at the airport because I was bringing over Yorkshire tea for her. She will be missed.

Dear Barry and family: my condolences to you on the loss of such a wonderful lady. I share this story with you as it something I laugh about today. Graham was in his fourth year of hockey and while standing next to Holly during a game she said “that was offside”. I said, “ still don’t get the offside stuff”. She reached over took my hockey Mom pin off of my jacket and told me I couldn’t have it back until I learned what offside was. Hahahah

Holly and I shared a lot of laughs at the cottage over the years. She was a very special person. The first time I met her, I was 15 years old and her son Todd was just born. Holly and Barry owned the store in Waubaushene and during my 33 years of being with her Nephew Jeff, I can honestly say that, some of my favourite times were spent at the cottage. I remember Mauzie sending us down to the store to get her a pistachio ice cream cone. The store always had the best treats and we would always fill up on Sunday nights, on our way back to the city. Sometimes, if we were lucky enough, she’d invite us to stay for dinner.. Holy made the best lasagna I’ve ever had. I remember freaking out one time, after seeing a family of Deer in the window, and Holly very calmly saying, “ oh yeah, they come by a lot” lol and I had never seen Deer up close like that before. Holly would anything for anybody and was one of the nicest person I’ve ever known. I will never forget her. My heart goes out to Barry and the Boys and their families, as this void will be impossible to fill. Sending love and prayers.
Ps. The photo was taken at our home on Jeff’s 60th Birthday Party and Brenda’s 80th Birthday Party of her and Jeff. They were very close.

I was very fortunate to meet Holly and Barry at a dinner gathering with my Dad, Warren Aird (family connection) while they were visiting Nova Scotia. Holly was warm and friendly, so when she asked to get together for dinner and a little shopping excursion with me on her next visit here I was delighted. She was fun and made a person feel like they had known her for years. I will treasure my short time with Holly always. She was a lovely and unforgettable person. My thoughts are with you Barry and family.
