Obituary of Jack Denton Nolan
Passed away at Trillium Manor, Orillia, surrounded by his children on Sunday June 14, 2026 at the age of 95 of Big Chute, formerly of Owen Sound and Toronto. Predeceased in March 2023 by his loving wife, Marie (nee: Bracken). Loving father of Paul of Big Chute, Jim and his wife Trish of Owen Sound, Janice and her husband Don Young of Ramara, and Cindy of Barrie. He was blessed with his grandchildren: Josh (Laura), Megan (Eric), Mindy (Dave), Chelsea (Craig), Stephanie (Jason), Heather (Harry), and Greg (Lisa). Doubly blessed with his great grandchildren: Ember, Easton, Tanner, Jovee, Finn, Lilly, Kylie, Warren, Addison, Logan, and Theodore. Will be sadly missed by his foster sons Bill Fife and Bob McNamara and their families and by his sister Susan Williams. Predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Elaine (February 2007), by his brother, Robert Nolan and by his sister, Olga Naftel.
Jack along with his wife Marie founded Severn Falls Chapel in 1956 and was a retired Administrator of Grey-Owen Sound Social and Family Services.
The family will honour Jack with a visitation at the Coldwater Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. A service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at the Severn Falls Chapel on Saturday June 20th at 1:30pm. A private family interment will be held at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Matchedash.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the “Mission Fund” of Severn Falls Chapel and can be made through the Funeral Home.
