Peacefully with her family at her side at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Tuesday March 25, 2025 at the age of 91.  Beloved wife of the late Gordon Whiston (September 2003).  Loved mother of Colin Whiston (Susan) and Lynda Whiston (Mike van Muyen).  Loving grandmother of Connie, Ashley, Jennifer, Holly, Colton, Carolyn, Harry, Lacey, and Veronica.  Much loved great grandmother of 18 great grandchildren. 

The family will honour her life with a visitation at the Coldwater Funeral Home, Coldwater from 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday.  The funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Fairvalley on Saturday March 29th at 1pm. Cremation to follow. 

As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Rita may be made to the Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation or to the charity of your choice and may be made through the Funeral Home.
