When Bev was down at the dock he always had a big wave and a friendly hello to us sitting on our dock. We loved that. Chatting with Bev was always interesting. He was a wealth of knowledge regarding our lake and the area. One time when we were having a visit I noticed a mosquito sitting on his ear. I mentioned it and he said, “It ok he’s not bothering me.” Pat and I had a chuckle over that one. We are certainly going to miss Bev. We are so sorry for your loss and we are keeping you all in our thoughts and close to our hearts.

Bev and I did not know what to make of each other initially in the early 80s when my family burst onto the scene at Pigeon Lake. Years later, Bev and I became the best of friends once we got to know each other and realized we were kindred spirits. I am very thankful for our friendship and for the mutual respect and cooperation we shared at the lake. I will miss our team efforts on road maintenance, which involved 'tractor times', minor repairs, and, of course, the annual fall leaf blowing expeditions. In retrospect, I only wish we had found our friendship in those early days, as we would have enjoyed more time as friends. Bev's passing leaves a big void in our neighborhood, and I will be reminded of him and his family every time I venture forth. Godspeed, Bev.

I was very sorry to hear about Bev's passing. I got to know Bev quite well helping him and Pat with their landscaping at their home at the time in Ridgetown. He was a kind man and even treated my wife and I to Jays tickets at the skydome. My condolences to Pat and family. David and April Stepniak

Dear Goodison Family,
We are so sorry and please accept our deepest condolences for the passing of Bev. I will miss seeing and waving to Bev and Pat on the porch as I drove by. Or at night coming up to the cottage and seeing their porch light on brought a lot of comfort knowing they were always there. I always enjoyed catching up after the long winter and will miss our daily waves from the dock. We were so lucky to have such amazing neighbours. Bev was always so kind.
You are all in our thoughts.

Bev was our neighbor at the cottage for the past 35 plus summers. He was so kind and always willing to help if we needed. I will forever remember him throwing the ball for his dog off the end of his dock for hours, big smile on his face and so much love for his furry friend. He will be so missed!

Knowing Bev for the past thirty years was truly an honour. Having Bev and Pat as our cottage neighbours was comforting knowing they were keeping an eye on things when we were not around. I will miss our talks. Bev loved his home on the lake and always made sure that you knew what was going on. From the McConkey Family our sincere condolences to Pat and the Goodison Family.

Our cottage sits right next to Bev and Pat’s on North Pigeon Lake, and from day one, Bev was the welcoming committee, local historian, and unofficial mayor of the lane. Always smiling, always generous with advice, and full of stories about our cottage history and area—he helped us navigated cottage issues with ease. He was so knowledgable about so many things, honestly, we are not sure what we would have done without him all these years.
Just a couple of winters ago, we found ourselves in a real pickle—our car stuck on an icy cliff-side road. Who shows up like a snow-day superhero? Bev and his son Dave, out there wrestling our vehicle back to safety like it was just another Tuesday. He was always helping others.
Bev was the greatest fellow with a wonderful sense of humour, (except when losing at cards.) We were lucky to have him as our neighbour and friend for so many years, and we will all miss him more than words can say.
