Obituary of Christine Zwicker

Christine Zwicker, 79, of Waubaushene, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at Simcoe Hospice in Barrie, surrounded by her family. Born on July 30, 1946, in Blackpool, England. She emigrated to Canada in 1956, raised her family in Barrie, Ontario, and later residing in Waubaushene, Ontario.

Christine is survived by her beloved husband, Gerry;  and children Michael (Melissa), Heather, and Susan (Richard);  Elaine (Osayi); grandchildren Jami, Kyle, Taylor (Adrian), Nathan, and Raya; and her great-granddaughter, Chloe.

Chris’s wit, charm, and love of conversation made her the heart of every gathering. With a warm smile, a hot cup of tea and freshly baked treat, she found joy in connecting with others and brightening their days with her laughter. Her greatest passion was her garden, a welcoming haven she lovingly tended to and shared with all. Ever generous and willingness to help, she delighted in passing along her knowledge and plants to anyone inspired by her creation.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, family and friends.

Honoring her modest wishes, she was cremated and requested no formal service, wishing instead to be remembered simply and fondly with laughter and love.
