Uncle Harold was a big part of my live growing up and he will be missed. I remember when he used to pick up my daughter and take her to the cottage for the weekend. She was also so excited, waiting with her suitcase, till he showed up in the driveway. Many great memories!!

Harold was a wonderful person. I worked for him for a few years and we never lost contact even when I moved from Toronto. He was a super Boss to me when I worked for him and an even better friend. I seen him help countless people who needed it. He always was the first to offer help. Many of his truck drivers used Harold's good nature to ask for help when needed. He was a person that everyone could count on. We stayed the best of friends up to the time of his death. I will miss his calls and our little chats where he had to tease me about something or other. When my daughter was about 10 years old he gave her a quarter and told her to call him if she needed help. It was a joke but I am sure he would have been there for her if she needed help. Every time I talked to him, he would ask if she still had that quarter and I would say yes. I also had many a good time at his cottage.

I am so proud to say that I could call you my Uncle Harold. You were one of the kindest people I knew. You never missed a Christmas Eve to call and wish us a Merry Christmas and let us know that you received our card with the kids pictures. I will never forget the great times we had at the cottage. Mom loved you deeply and I know how much it meant to her to see you one last time while she was sick. Please say hi to her for me. Rest in Peace Uncle Harold.

I last saw Uncle Harold when he came to visit mom (Shirley) in the hospice in 2012. She was so happy to see him one last time. I hope they're sharing a story and laugh together in heaven. I have so many fond memories of Uncle Harold ... one being our last celebration at the Orton Family reunion. We also have many memories of visiting him at the cottage. Even though there was lots of commotion , I know he loved having the company. Rest in Peace Uncle Harold <3

Althrough I did not know Harold personally, my sister Ruby Wheeler often spoke of the good times she & her husband Bert had with Harold at his cottage many years ago. To Harold's family and friends I offer my Deepest Sympathy.

So sad to hear of Harold's passing. I worked for Harold for a few years when he had his driver service and knew him even before that while working for the trucking company he supplied drivers for. He was always a caring individual and was the best Boss I ever had in all my years of work. He truly cared about everyone's well being and would help you out in any way he could. He joked around about everything; but I knew I could always rely on him when needed. He was a very good male role model for me and I will miss his frequent telephone calls. He was my very dear friend and I will miss him terribly. He helped me through some difficult times? Rest in peace Harold.
