Obituary of Wilfrid Lafrance

Passed away peacefully at the Elim Homes, Waubaushene on Thursday December 18, 2014 just 5 days shy of his 94th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Winnifred "Winnie" Lafrance (March 2004). Loving father of Yvonne Bowen (Jim) of Midland, Pauline Bumstead of Victoria Harbour, and Rosemarie Lafrance (Kathy Marsden) of Oro-Medonte. Loved grandfather of Colleen, James, Keverne, Nadine, Anne Marie, Jamie, Danny, and Nicole. Will be remembered by his 16 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his grandson Wilfrid Shane Bumstead and by his son-in-law Frank Bumstead. Dear brother of Oscar Lafrance of Pembroke. Predeceased by his sisters Laura, Yvonne, Toni, and by his brother Eugene. Will be missed by his cherished Teddy. Wilfrid was a veteran of WWII, member of Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch #316, Waubaushene, member of the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus, past Trustee of St. Theresa's Catholic High School, Midland and the camp caretaker of the Quaker Camp Nee-Kaunis for over 50 years. The family will honour Wilfrid's life with a visitation at the COLDWATER FUNERAL HOME, Coldwater from 7-9pm Saturday and from 2-4 & 7-9pm Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's R.C. Church, Waubaushene on Monday December 22nd at 2pm. Spring Interment Legion Cemetery, Waubaushene. The members of the R.C.L. Beaverbrook Branch #316, Waubaushene will hold a service to honour Wilfrid on Sunday afternoon at 3pm. As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Wilfrid may be made to St. John's R.C. Church and may be made through the funeral home.
