Dear Helen, my heart goes out to you at this time. I didn't know your children, Helen, but I have fond memories of our Sunday School days and then when we reconnected briefly as adults, I got to meet Ken. I pray that your family and friends will surround you with love in the difficult days ahead as you claim God's promise to "...turn their mourning into gladness. I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow." Jeremiah 31:13

Dear Helen, Heather and Karri On behalf of Linda, Lauren, Jeff and myself, I would like to express our deepest sympathies. I have many good memories of cousin Ken, particularly as kids and Ken would be included in whatever Gary and I were doing. I was again able to appreciate his sense of humour when he was in Thunder Bay a couple of years ago. He's left us far too soon. Our thoughts are with all the family at this time.

I too had the distinct pleasure of working with Ken Tuorila for a number of years when we would alternate 30-day periods in an acting position as each other's boss. He had a sharp wit with keen insight and a healthy splash of humour for good measure. He loved to solve the word jumbles in the paper and we would often combine efforts to solve them together. It amazed me how quickly he could pick a word out of a mess of letters. One particular jumble we always chuckled about was 'IFARTY'. heh heh Took us forever to solve it, but it was Ken that came up with the answer, 'ratify'. Peace be upon you, brother, as you have paid your dues and ratified your agreement with God.

To Ken's wife, Helen, his children Heather and Karri While I have not had the pleasure of meeting any of you, I am Ken's aunt, Stan's sister and was so sadden by the unexpected news of Ken's passing. I did have a very enjoyable visit with him at the camp last summer while I was in Thunder Bay. What was immediately apparent was his love of his family and his time at the camp as he was showing me pictures on his laptop. He has a beautiful family, one he was immensely proud of. I, of course tend to have memories of a "young" Ken, especially those when his family still lived in Thunder Bay on Dawson Rd. While, I have the distinction of being his aunt, it was difficult to think of myself as one since only a handful of years separated us. At the time he was just one of those "pesky boys" whose job it was to tease us girls. I did see him a couple of times after they moved away and he made a big impression on my children when they were young because he was like a "big kid" when he entertained them. To Mae, Gayle, Gary, Kathy and Elaine: There are no words which would convey my sympathy on the loss of a a beloved son and brother. I cannot imagine your pain but know you find comfort from the knwledge that he is with the Lord and his Dad. Ken's sense of humor, compassion, his love of his family, summers at the camp along with fishing will always be remembered. My sincerest sympathies to his Family and if there is anything I can do, please do let me know.

I had the pleasure of working with Ken during the past two and a half years. I started working with Ken as an apprentice, where his good nature, sense of humour, as well as his extensive knowledge and experience in his field of work was an integral part of my training. I appreciated my time spent with Ken at the Central Heating Plant. He will certainly be missed by all of us. David Janzen

My husband, Mike, and Ken worked together off and on for many years, they always had a great meal together on the 16 hr nt shifts, and sometimes brkfst after the Sun. shifts. Ken called Mike regularly, but always wanted to chat with me for a while. Last time he called, less than 2 wks ago, I told him Mike was outside somewhere, he said "Yell Fire, or I'm horny", and he'll answer right away" Of course I didn't, but Ken always made me laugh when he called. Mike will be there Fri, but not thurs, he's got the 16 hr shift, again, this time without Ken, although he probably would have been off or on maint. anyways due to the time of year. Mike has lost a great friend, we'll both miss him.

We met Ken & Helen at church when our children were small. Later became part of a small group Bible Study and thoroughly enjoyed time spent with them in the study and socially. Ken always had a laugh for us, was very involved in the Bible Study discussions, loved his "girls" and wasn't afraid to show it. After they moved to Coldwater we lost touch with them but always remember the "good old times" with great memories. Ken may you find rest "sitting at feet of Jesus". God Bless you Helen, Heather and Kari.

Words cannot describe the roller coaster of emotions running through my body, and through this family. There are so many things I would have liked to talk to you about, so many things that I would have loved to share. I know you joked that I wasn't allowed to get married until I was 40 so that you wouldn't have to witness your "baby" getting married, and how I wish that wasn't the reality now. I will miss our private jokes and your constant need to teach Karri and I life skills. They seemed like such a pain but I know you wanted to make sure we would be ok. I am still waiting to hear you holler "have you seen my slippers??" or hear your shuffle down the hall in the morning with your insane bed hair. Mom, Karri and I will be ok, you have taught us to be strong. We have amazing family, friends and neighbours to lend a hand. I hope you are at peace and will watch over us as we continue to grow. I know it was something that wasn't often said but we both knew it, I love you, and I will miss you.

Ken...we always knew that you loved your family, camp and fishing. You were there to be the "big brother" even when at times I didn't like it. We were very close in age which also gave us a "unique bond"...even when we fought as kids...hehe...lucky for me that was not too often. Love you...may God be with you and say hi to Dad and everyone else.

There is a big hole in our hearts tonight and a sense of unimaginable loss. Beneath his rough exterior, he was a man of deep emotions and spirituality. He loved his children and his wife. Ken, I will miss our fishing trips & times of laughter. PS I don't think you would have learned to skate without me or fillet a fish ;) Love Elaine
