Dear Members of Allison's family, I was Allison's chemistry teacher this past term. I just wanted to let you know that Allison made a deep impression on me and I feel that it was a privilege to have her in my class. She was so conscientious about her school work in spite of all the challenges she was facing in her personal life. She was an amazing young woman and my thoughts are with you.

Reid Family, I am an ER nurse at OSMH. I took Allison to St.Mikes last year on an ambulance trip. From the moment I laid eyes on Allison, I could tell she was special; one of those 'old souls'. She had so much experience behind her young eyes. I had the privledge of being let in to her life for a short trip that day and learned a lot about CF, but more about her and her dreams and goals. I was thrilled when she told me she wanted to be a nurse. I think it's truly admirable when someone who battles a chronic illness can be that much more giving of themselves to help others after what they struggle with every day. I wholeheartedly encouraged her to follow her dream. When I heard she got her lungs I was so happy! I thought there could not be a more deserving person. I left OSMH and started at Sick Kids in the Critical Care Unit in December. Oddly enough, the only call in shift I worked in the ER, Allison happened to be there, she updated me on school and I couldn't have been happier! She looked so well! I had such high hopes for her and I was just elated that she was doing so well. For that reaaon, I can't even begin to imagine the extent of your grief. When I read about her passing, my heart sank. It's not often I'm given the time or chance to connect with such a dynamic and captivating person like Allison. I want you to know, for the brief time I spent with her, I saw a sliver of the light of her personality and I can only hope that beautiful light will live on in each one of you. My deepest sympathies are with your family.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Family. I knew Allison from the Treadmill Room at the TGH. It hurts so much to see one of our Treadmill Family pass. My deepest condolences to her twin sister. Allison can now breath easy and watch over you all no matter where you are, she has now received her Angel wings. She was loved by many. I wish I could be there for her funeral, but I live in Nova Scotia. Hugs from me.

To the Reid family. Although I never met your daughter, I was saddened to read her obituary notice in the KW Record; to be taken from your family so young. You must be proud of her courageous fight and how she touched so many lives. Her spirit will live within you always and the memories will sustain you forever. Although Allison has been taken away from us physically she will remain with us spiritually forever.

Al and Paula We just learned of Allison's death and know you must be struggling with the reality of this sad day. Even knowing this day would come, you are never prepared to lose someone you love, particularly someone so young, courageous and full of promise. Memories are the one thing that death cannot take away. We know you have many wonderful memories that will keep Allison alive in your hearts. Know that sharing them with others - like us - whether at work, the mall or the grocery store - will keep her in our hearts as well. You are in our thoughts and prayers....

I remember two Christmas' ago when Allison was in the hospital just before she had her surgery, we were talking and she was asking me since I worked at the mall, if all of the Christmas decorations were out and how she really wanted to get out to do some Christmas shopping and she was telling me how much she loved Christmas and how she loved to decorate and be with her family for the holidays. Just to cheer her up a bit I bought her a few Christmas things and sent them to her. She was so happy and grateful. That was the thing about Allison; it was the little things in life that she loved so much. Even when she was really sick she took the time out to send Christmas cards to people. She was always thinking of others. She was an inspiration to so many. I will miss her very much.

Allison was a strong and truly inspiring young woman. I cannot express how sad I was to learn of her passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember our friendship really beginning when she, Colleen and I went on the Queen's University trip in grade ten. I had such a great time that week and remember that, and all times with Allison, fondly. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all now and will continue to be with you.

The Coughlin Family wish to express our deepest condolences to the Reid Family during this time. We moved to Coldwater when Meagan was nine and going into grade five. The first person who greeted her at school and welcomed her to Coldwater was Allison, closely followed by Colleen. While high school took us onto different paths, it is clear that Allison had a kind heart and a brave spirit, and like many others who knew her, Allison touched our lives with her determination and zest for life. So in remembering Allison we never will forget the sweet girl who walked amongst us still walks amongst us yet. Our sincere condolences, Pat, Trudy, Meagan and Maureen Coughlin

Al and family, I was saddened to learn of Alliison's passing. That said I will remember the lunches I had with the two of you at the Mandarin when she was at Children's for follow-up visits. I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting Allison and wish you and your family the strength to get through the tough days ahead. I am sure you all have a special thought or memory of Allison that will bring a smile or laugh to you. Build on those as they are what she wants you to remember. Take care of one another. Unfortunatley I cannot get up to Coldwater but the Reid family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Allison was a bright light in an often dreary world...her struggles illustrated the strength and courage it takes to live your life to the fullest, while battling seemingly insurmountable odds....and she did all of this with an unsurpassed joy and happiness. Although she was taken far too soon she left a legacy of giving and selflessness that will not soon be forgotten. She was an inspiration, and we are all better for having known and loved her. Allison, we will miss you....but you will live on in our hearts.

To the Reid family, I didn't know Allison long enough. I met her only months before I lost my mom. And when I went through that hard time, She was one of the people there for me to talk to. To help me get away. I have nothing but good stories about her. She was always strong, putting others ahead of her own needs and truly one of the most remarkable people I ever had the treasure of knowing. Allison is one of the people you grow up remembering even after moving far away. We didn't talk much after I left for college but when we did talk we picked up where we left off. I only now realize how much she really helped me through my pain. And she is a very lucky woman to have loved ones help her through hers. She hasn't left, in fact quite the opposite. Allison is going to watch over all of her friends and loved ones, laughing at us when we goof up, cheer us on when we chase our dreams and she'll even cry with when we're sad. Because thats what love does, it bonds you together forever. To all of you I wish this time is only a moment of numbness that will soon become celebration of the life of a lovely young lady who not only enjoyed and appreciated the life she was given; but inspired others to do so too. Love and my deepest condolences.

Al, My condolences to your family at this sad time in your lives. I was always impressed with the devotion that you all showed to ensuring Allison had nothing but the best of care and opportunities. I remember joining you and Allison for Chinese food on one of your frequent trips to London over the years (a tradition i gather) .... But i think the memory of Allison that stands out in my mind is the day we had your girls join us at the John Labatt Center when we made a presentation to the group simple plan! I dont think you could wipe the smiles off their faces and i have the photo of them with the group somewhere on my harddrive to prove it! Please know I am thinking of you and hope we can talk under happier circumstances soon.. Steve
