Obituary of Stanley Denis Athron

Stan died peacefully, with family at his side, on Tuesday morning, November 29, 2016 at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie. Stan was the loving husband of Rosemary, proud father of Penny and Sandra (Trevor MacLean) and Papa of Aveline, the light of his life. He will be greatly missed by his brothers, David (Donna) and Ken (Linda) and his sisters, Lyn (Paul) and Pat (Al). He was a beloved and special uncle and great-uncle to his nieces and nephews. Stan was a well-respected master small engine mechanic in the marine industry for more than forty years. In retirement, he became a golf fanatic. The family will honour his life with a visitation at the COLDWATER FUNERAL HOME, Coldwater on Friday evening from 6-9pm. The funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Fairvalley, 66 Fairvalley Church Road, Oro-Medonte on Saturday December 3rd at 1pm. Cremation to follow. His family is so appreciative of the wonderful staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe for their compassion and care. As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Stan may be made to Hospice Simcoe, RVH “Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre” or St. George’s Memorial Fund.
