RECEPTION

Immediately following the mass friends are invited to St. John's Parish Hall for the reception.

Donations in memory of John may be made to Spencer House, Orillia and may be made through the funeral home.

So sorry I wasn't here to give my condolences in person. My girls (Linda & Kathy) and I had some great times with all of John's family, especially Helen. After John moved into town, he and I often chatted when we met at the post office.

I have such wonderful memories of Uncle John from childhood summers spent with the Mackeys. Pancake breakfasts, boating trips, getting to pick an ice cream from the candy store, riding the school bus to the stock car races, and of course his quirky sense of humor. There was the surprise trip when he picked Lena up from work at the bank with the kids and drove all the way to Texas to visit us. He had planned it all out with my Dad and we didn't know they were coming until the doorbell rang. I know that my Dad greatly treasured John's friendship through the years, and that I, like many others, have greatly benefited from his kindness and generosity. I will miss you Uncle John. Our deepest condolences. We are so sorry that your family must go through this but we are family and we will share our grief, comfort and support. We will miss Uncle John. No one ever made a better Christmas brunch or Easter breakfast! My favourite memories growing up are always remembered with Uncle John somewhere nearby. It was always evident that he was a loving husband, a caring father and an awesome uncle. We love you all.
