Teen, you were a beautiful person.
You had a unique voice, a special laugh, a grace in the way you carried yourself. You told it like it is. You were a mentor.
I have so many memories: you lived across the road when we were kids, and you worked magic in the dairy bar; you were among my parents’ cohorts at house parties, and weekend parties on the lake; we worked together at Earl’s restaurant, where you taught me to work hard during my summers there; I remember so clearly the day you showed me the bracelet given to you by your “sweetie”, and when you told me that the sweetie was Doug Bunt, I was delighted…you were two of my favourite people; you and Doug dropped by for a visit on the dock when Chuck and I were staying at our family cottage; I paid visits to both you and Doug at your Coldwater house; and finally the last visit was with Connie (Galbraith) at the Orillia nursing home, when we promised to return soon.
I have a clear mental image of you sitting in your chair as we left you, catching the last rays of sunshine.
My aunt told me the news. I’m sorry that I missed the service, but I will think of you often.
