Obituary of Ron W. Goodchild
After a brave fight with cancer at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie with family at his side in his 77th year of Foxmead. Beloved husband for 50yrs. to Louise (Kitchen). Loved dad of Gaylene, Stephen, Leah Zakojc (Viktor), and Andrew. Loving poppa of Katie, Sean, Brianna, Hayley, David, Kylie, Michael, and Nadia. Dear brother of Larry (Brenda), Gwen, Louella (Jerry), Bradley (Susan), and Darlene (Paul). Brother-in-law of Barry, Ruth (late Bob), Mark (Darlene), Anita (Barry), Bonnie, Teresa (Andre), Glenn (Dianne), and Clifford (Cindy). Will be missed by many nieces & nephews, by Ed Guidry, Michelle Goodchild, and Ruth Anne Tiffin. Predeceased by his parents Wesley and Verva Goodchild. Ron was a Peacekeeper with the Queens Own Rifles and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #270, Coldwater. Following cremation, the family will honour his life with a visitation at the Coldwater Legion on Saturday September 8th from 1pm until 2:45pm, then the members of the Legion will pay tribute to Ron, followed by the service of remembrance. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Ron may be made to Hospice Simcoe, or to the R.C.L. Branch #270, Coldwater “Poppy Fund”, and may be made through the funeral home.
