A neighbour, a friend, a person to spend some quiet time with and just talk. Talk about all sorts of things. And we did. We spent time at his place and my place just chatting for 1 or 2 hours at a time. Fun times filled with laughter and some times tears.
Ken, I will miss YOU and miss the sound of the ATV coming down the back pathway into the garden where we looked at the plants and the wild life.
You have earned your place and have done your duty.
May peace be with you.
Love Don

Dear Val and Family
Only heard the sad news today. Sorry for this great loss. Ken was a great man and very much a mentor in the time I served with him. Fondly remember the many conversations and the odd cocktail we shared together discussing the fire service.

My condolences to the family on the passing of Chief Hamilton. I remember meeting with him in the office at the Georgian Bay Fire Department when he got a phone call. I remembered him standing up and looking out the window and with his usual colorful language stating "NO YOU ARE NOT GETTING AN OPEN AIR BURNING PERMIT, LOOK OUT THE WINDOW ". When looked out side the wind was blowing so hard all the flags were flapping straight out.

I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I remember growing up on Eplett St with you across the road. Ken had a gruff exterior but was a marshmallow on the inside. I remember the Alpha Bet sample boxes he would bring home and let us have. I would meet Ken and Val through the years and he would always say Betty Miller he never used my married name. He always had a smile or a little joke even if he wasn't feeling well.
The one thing you knew about Ken after a few minutes of talking was that you Val were the love of his life and all of his children he was proud of.
Well as my sister Kathy would say we are going to miss "Mr. Hablton".
You are all in my prayers
