I was a student in Mr. Snider’s History class in Levack, ON graduating in 1962. Mr. Snider was a favourite. Such a kind, sincere and interested teacher. I also babysat for him and went on a train trip to Ottawa with Mr. Snider and other students in our grade 12 or grade 13 History class. What an incredible experience! He cared about his students and was a wonderful teacher. I remember him fondly looking just like the handsome young man in the photograph. You were definitely one of the reasons why I pursued a career in education. Rest in peace Mr. Snider. Gloria Austin (Maki) London, Ontario

Dear Eileen, Lee and Bill,
I'm saddened to learn of Stan's passing. I was thinking about all of you, as a bit nostalgic. I googled and found this sad news. You visited N.H. and left fond memories forever, despite not having spent more time together. My mother loved all of you and shared her memories of summers with Eileen at Ma(w?) and Pa(w?) Pheasants farm.
I remember thinking what a special family you are-each and everyone of you- from the moment we met. Those thoughts and feelings never left me. Please know how sorry I am for your loss of your special husband, Dad and wonderful person. My sympathy is with all of you, each of you remain etched in my mind and warmly in my heart always.
Love to all of you,
Caryl Sawtelle

I first met Stan and Eileen at the Midland Curling Club. Back in the day (as he would say) Coldwater didn't have a curling rink; so we used to go to Midland. Stan and I were on the same team. What a riot. We were always joking and carrying on. I learned a lot of History that winter. Over the summer Eileen ,Stan and I would cross paths at different events throughout the area and have a nice visit. He was always ready to give a kind hug and say, "there is my curling buddy".
I will miss you buddy. Keep your head up and your broom on the ice.

My first memory of meeting Stan is seeing his backyard in Newmarket; filled with trees - I had never seen a property quite like that before...and then there is Oromocto...trees are part of my memories of Stan...

Dear Eileen,
My deep sympathy to you and your family on your loss of such a fine man as Stan.
I will miss bumping in to Stan at the post office this summer when I am back on The Pool this year. When visiting the post office I will be reminded of the many times our paths crossed and Stan and I would have a brief but warm chat.
I look forward to seeing you on May 26th at the Rawley Resort.
Warm regards,
Angela

My deepest heartfelt condolences to the family on hearing of Stan's passing. I have such nice memories of Stan from the Lions Club, and also when I worked at Lock 45. I will never forget the day Eileen & Stan were honoured at the bridge opening ceremony for their story of their beginning in the middle of that bridge. A nicer person would be hard to find, I will always remember Stan with a smile.
Thinking of you all Eileen, Bill and family.

Dear Eileen, Lee, Bill and families
We are sorry to hear of Stan's passing. I have known you all for so long. From your visits with mom and dad while you were at Mrs. Pheasant's to your move back up to this area after retirement. Stan would make a point of saying I've known Betty since she was in diapers. Ken met Stan at a few times at the Millers but really got to know and respect him as a fellow Lion. Lee and Bill your dad was so very proud of both and what you have accomplished.
Keep your memories close and he will always be here. Eileen your memories and his love will give you peace.
