I’m truly going to miss Rick. Although we didn’t see each other much, we did keep in touch. I missed my 7 am call this past Christmas morning as he was in the hospital. It was weird not getting the usual “morning - merry Christmas”.
Over the past number of years, he’s had quite the health battles to overcome but every time I talked to him, he was always chipper and never complained. You fought the good fight Rick.
Throughout my entire life Rick always tried to convince me that I was adopted. This banter started when I was a kid and continued into adulthood. Well Rick for the first time in my life, I get the final word on this matter - I was not adopted!
To (Wendy and Ricks kids), my nephew and nieces, and grand nephew and nieces, I pray for peace for all of you in the loss of your dad and grandad. I know Rick sometimes had a hard time showing his love (it’s a family trait) but he truly loved each one of you .
Wendy thank you so much for taking care of Rick especially in the last few months. He was blessed to have your love, help and commitment. I pray for peace for you in these coming days.
Thank you Rick for being my brother - I love you with all my heart and soul.
