Obituary of Joan Ellen Frankish

Passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Village Care Centre, Midland on Friday March 5, 2021 at the age of 81, formerly of Coldwater. Loving mother of Laurie Robinson (Rob) of Fauquier, Ontario, Anne McArthur (Dean) of Coldwater, Bobbie Jo MacAusland (Mitch) of O’Leary, P.E.I., Michele Russell (Billy) of Waubaushene, and Jerry Wright (Julie) of Collingwood. Loved grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Beloved sister of Grace Mahoney (late Bill), and Jerry Kyle (Bernice). Loving aunt to Grace and Jerry’s children. Dear companion of Bill Croxall. Joan was born in Geraldton, Ontario to Gerald & Mary Kyle. She was a lifetime member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #270, Coldwater, as well as a lifetime member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was honoured to be the recipient of the Trillium Award through the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a retired Registered Practical Nurse. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at Hillcrest Village for their care, compassion and support given to Joan. At the family’s request due to Covid-19 restrictions, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County and may be made through the funeral home.
