Obituary of Christopher George Edward "Chris" Small
With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Chris (74 years old) on June 28, 2021, at his daughter’s home in Mulmur, Ontario, after a long struggle with cancer. Loving father of Melanie Somerville (Don). Beloved grandfather of Matthew, Jacob, Julia, Emily, and Katelyn. He will be missed by Wendy Small.
He was born to parents Alexander and Lillian Small. Survived by his sister Rhena and brother George, and pre-deceased by his brother Kenny and his sister Suzanne.
Chris was passionate about graphic design, fine arts, and photography. He attended Sheridan College for graphic design and soon after started his own graphic design company. He has created and produced graphics and signage for Seneca College, Eaton Estate, and various companies in Coldwater and surrounding areas (Annual Duck Race, Village Memories 100th Anniversary Book, and Centennial Calendar and Book Committee). Chris was a longtime resident of Coldwater, and a past member of the Lions Club. He loved spending time with his family and teaching his grandkids about their family history, the world wars, and playing chess.
He will be missed and loved forever and always by his family and friends.
A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held at the Coldwater Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Chris may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Coldwater Lions Club and may be made through the funeral home.
