Obituary of Everett Earl Johnstone

Passed away peacefully at the Mariposa House Hospice, Severn Township with his son Terry and granddaughter Daina at his side on Thursday July 22, 2021 just shy of his 92nd birthday of Carley.  Predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan Johnstone (nee Bailey).  Much loved father of Terry (Eunice) and Rick (Helen).  Predeceased by his sons Murray and Doug.  Loving grandfather of Daina (Chris), Dwain (Dawn), and Shelby (Mike).  Great grandfather of Parker (Shannon), Tinisha, Chase, Alexandra, Sara, McKenzie, Jonias, Joanna, Jameson, Jacklyn, Curtis, Connor, Saige, MacGregor, Robert, and Easton.  Loving brother of Keith, and brother-in-law of Marie Bailey.  Predeceased by his brothers Lytle, Glen, and by his sister Aldine.  Everett will be sadly missed by his family, nieces, nephews, friends, his hockey family, and dear friend Bev Morano.  Everett was an active member of the Coldwater & District Agricultural Society for 60 years.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Kandace, Nurse Practitioner Joanne, and the staff of Mariposa House Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Everett.  A visitation to honour Everett’s life will be held at the COLDWATER FUNERAL HOME, Coldwater on Sunday July 25th from 2-5 & 7-9pm.  Due to Covid-19 guidelines masks must be worn, screening and social distancing are required and are in place to ensure the safety of all attendees.  The funeral service will be held at the Coldwater United Church on Monday July 26th, attendance is limited, please call the funeral home (705-686-3344) to RSVP and receive the time of the service. Masks are required inside the church.  Interment Hobart Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Everett may be made to the Mariposa House Hospice or to the Canadian Cancer Society and may be made through the funeral home.
