Obituary of Paul David Koster
Paul passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Sunday August 29, 2021 at the age of 77. Paul David Koster was born in Peterborough, Ontario on July 20, 1944 to parents Carl Mathias Koster and Linda ( Foster ) Koster. Paul completed his formal schooling in Toronto at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in 1966, graduating from the Architectural Technology Course. He then went to work in the Engineering Department at Trent University for the next 6 years. He moved to Toronto and worked up to the position of Manager Industrial Division with Markborough Properties Inc., Paul then worked for various international companies to the position of Vice President of Design Build to establish facilities in the Toronto area. Paul is survived by his wife Marion ( Playfair ) Homer who he met in 2007 and married on Clearwater Beach in Florida in 2012. They had many common interests: hiking, biking, gardening, sailing and kayaking. Marion bred and raised labrador retrievers for 28 years and once she retired they would take their 5 labradors to Florida for the winter. Marion has 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Paul is also survived by his dearly loved son Matthias William Koster and his wife Lisa Javor of St. Catharines. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Paul and his family. Following cremation a celebration to honour Paul’s life will be held at the Coldwater Legion on Saturday September 18th from 12-3pm. As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Paul may be made to The Leprosy Mission Canada and may be made through the funeral home.
