Please share a memory of Ethel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Passed away into the arms of the Lord on Thursday September 23, 2021 at the Salvation Army Grace Manor, Ottawa, just 4 days shy of her 96th birthday.  Beloved wife of the late Donald (November 2005).  Loving mother of Carol Jefferies (Tom) of Stittsville, Wayne Mercer (Joan) of Milton, and the late Richard Mercer (November 2016).  Dear mother-in-law of Jamie of Courtice.  Loved grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Ann (Bradley) Hawkins, by her brother Jimmy Hawkins and by her sister Dorothy Fraser.  Will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Ethel was a devoted Christian and a long time active member of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario.  Ethel was a patient of Dr. Thomas Pauk for many years and the family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Pauk for his care and compassion shown to Ethel.  Due to Covid-19 protocols Ethel will be cremated and a family service will be held.  As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Ethel may be made to The I.O.O.F. Seniors Homes, Barrie or to Diabetes Canada and may be made through the funeral home.
