Obituary of Marjorie "Leona" Jessie Silk

With sadness, the family of Marjorie 'Leona' Jessie Silk (nee Rankin) announce her passing at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia, Ontario on Saturday December 11, 2021 in her 82nd year. Leona was the beloved wife of Howard of 63yrs. Cherished mom of Barry Silk (Adah), Brian Silk (Mary Jane), Tom Silk (Susan) and Nancy Robinson (Paul). Proud and loving Grandma of  Brent Silk (predeceased), Benjamin Silk (Paola), Emily Rose (Tyler), Daniel Silk, Mandy Moniz (Jess), Elizabeth Silk, Brian Silk Jr (Kim), Sarah Kitchen (Fred), Todd Silk (Kyndal), Katie Silk (Josh), Craig Robinson (Michaela) and Justin Robinson (Aly). Affectionate Great Grandma to Logan, Nathan, Peter, Raquelle, Rosalee, Camryn, Jack and Jameson.

Leona was the eldest daughter of Velma and Charles Rankin of Jarratt. Dear sister of  Betty Finan, Linda Woodrow, Charlie Rankin, George Rankin, Patsy Brown, Sandra Vivian, and Barbara Jermey. Predeceased by Johnny, Jim, Archie, Margaret-Ann, and Howard Rankin.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital IMRS2 for their compassionate, respectful care of Leona.

There will be a family graveside service and interment in the spring of 2022 at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Matchedash. A Celebration of Leona’s life will be held at the Coldwater Curling Club on Saturday May 7^th from 11am until 2pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Coldwater Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Donations may be made in Leona's memory to the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation through funeral home.
