We were sad to read about Doug’s passing. We will always cherish the fun times we had over the years, and all the laughs.

We were saddened to learn of Doug passing as we recently were informed. We met Doug and his first wife in Milliken on the same street where we lived in 1978 and then later in Markham with his second wife Linnel. Many parties and Markham firefighter dances over the years, as well as Christmas Eve gettogethers at our home in Markham, We all partied and had fun together. I remember after one of the Markham firefighter dances (back in the 80s), the next morning after I got up, looked out the front window and there was a firetruck with the ladder parked on my front lawn and was removed later in the day. When I asked Doug about it, he just smiled and said, it was a good dance. For years, Christmas Eve parties at our place was a good fun time for us all and Doug and Linnel were always there..
We had lost touch with Doug over the last years having seen him about 15 years ago and every so often, my wife and I would talk and share memories of all the events we had together.
Rest in peace our friend. In your memory, I will have a double double drink.

Doug Curr was a great friend to both me and my family and all who knew him. I met Doug in 2010 when we retired from Northern Manitoba. He lived with Michael Moore on the old farm adjoining our property on Medonte Road 2. We talked over the fence and were friends ever since. He gave me both strength and support after the sudden death of my wife in 2015.
My condolences to his son Brent and wife Jade. I met Brent at Dougs 75th birthday celebration and there was no denying he was Dougs son. Kind and warm just like his Dad.
Doug was loved by good friends Jim and Wendy, David and Christine and Michael and Ashley Moore and Michaels sister Melanie and brother Billy were also part of his family. The biggest part of Dougs life were his grandchildren Scotlyn, Sansa and Sutton he lit up when talking about them.
My fondest memory of Doug was when we decided to make a trip to Oak Island in Nova Scotia. We drove through 4 provinces to go there as we were hooked on the History Channel show and never missed an ephisode. It was a great adventure and we enjoyed it immensly.
Finally I would like to thank Michael and Ashley for granting him his final wish to be in their home at the lake so that he could see all the people he loved and not be stuck in the hospital.
