Obituary of Dorothy "Ella" Reid
It is with deep sadness and much love that the family of Ms. Ella Reid, announce her peaceful passing on the evening of Monday July 4, 2022 in her 89th year, at Trillium Manor in Orillia. Ella was born in Toronto to the late John and Mary Bobik. Ella grew up in Toronto, with her parents and younger sister, and later moved to Coldwater in 1977. Ella spent her childhood playing with friends and visiting the family cottage, where she and her husband eventually purchased the neighboring property to make their permanent home. Ella later went on to become a travel agent, which contributed to her adventurous and wanderlust way of life. Ella visited several places throughout her lifetime, creating beautiful memories with her loved ones.
Ella spent her last few years living at Trillium Manor in Orillia where she received the best care and love from the nurses and PSW's that became family to her. Words will never be able to express the amount of thanks and gratitude Ella's family has for the staff at Trillium Manor.
Ella will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Brian Reid and Elizabeth Figueiredo (Manny); her three grandchildren, Jesse, Nicole, and Katie Cook (Daniel); and her two great-grandchildren, Jett and Knox. Ella will also be remembered her younger sister Francis Thomas (Lorne); her niece, Laura Osborne (Jeff); and great-nephews, Michael and Gregory, as well as numerous other family and friends.
Ella's witty, yet loving personality will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by all who ever knew her.
The family will honour her life with a visitation at the Coldwater Funeral Home on Thursday July 14th from 1-3pm. Cremation to follow.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ella can be made to Trillium Manor's "Bus Fund", an activity that Ella enjoyed and may be made through the funeral home, or online at simcoe.ca.
