Many thoughts of my family are brought to mind in seeing the loss of our dear cousin Don, many a trip I have made to Fairvalley St. George's for family reunions and services only to count ourselves lucky to meet Don and Mildred at whichever event. He was my 3rd cousin, through my father Don Mercer and my Grandma Edith Walker Mercer Rose.
Prayers and condolences to the entire Walker family. RIP Don.

To Mildred, Rhondda and Family,
You have our sincere condolences.
Marilyn went to public school with Don and and rode the high school bus with him. Both of us attended ODCVI together. To Alan and Elaine, it leaves you both to carry on. Rest in Peace, Don, you were truly a force in the Eady community.
Marilyn and Dale Lovering, former neighbours on the !0th.

Dear Mildred and Rhondda. My sincere condolences.
I know that everyone who knew Don has a story about his caring for others. One night a few years ago, when we didn't have any TV reception, I called "the Walkers" to see if their satellite was working. Mildred assured it must be as she could hear the TV in the basement. Don had just cleared the snow from their dish so he figured that was the problem with ours. Without hesitation, he put a ladder in the back of his truck, came to our house, climbed up and swept off the dish. As soon as he knew that we had reception, he left to go back home likely to watch the rest of the game. We always appreciated this act of kindness.
Memories are forever,
Rosemary Athron

Very sorry to hear of Dons passing. We came to know Don in 2004 through the Orillia snowmobile club. I worked with Don on numerous occasions. His enthusiasm and work ethics was very inspiring and sincerely helped me. He was honoured through the provincial organization (OFSC) for his 40 years of volunteering, and that was many years ago. A true inspiration to all that we’re in the club and knew him. Fair well my friend. John and Sue Britten
