Passed away peacefully at Spencer House, Orillia on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at the age of 85.  Cherished and beloved husband of Margaret.  Loved father of Laurie Wandel (Mark) and Carl McCaskell (Marcia). Loving grandfather of Nicole, Rachel, Devin, Isaac, Jocelyn, Dan, Beth, and Claire.  Dear brother of Shirley Jennett (late John) and Peter McCaskell (Loreen).  Predeceased by his mother and father, Lila and Jack McCaskell.  He will be missed by his faithful companions, Max, Bailey, Hazel, and the late Boo. 

John requested to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held in the Banquet Hall of St. Paul’s United Church, 62 Peter Street, North, Orillia on Saturday November 25th from 1-4pm.   

As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of John may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County, Barrie, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to the charity of your choice and may be made through the funeral home.
