Obituary of Jim Coombs
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Friday January 19, 2024 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Janet Coombs. Loved father of Michelle Surgenor (Kevin), Nicole Colp (Dave), Jamie Coombs (Kaitlin), and Scott Coombs (Emily). Loving grandfather of Kyle, Ryan, Isabella, Matteo, Makayla, Everett, Evelyn, Ruby, and Knox. Loved son of Dorothy and the late Art Coombs. Dear brother of Sandra Hollman, Gail Canning, John Coombs, and the late Rob Coombs. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Bailey and staff of the ICU of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Jim. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Coldwater Legion on Saturday February 3rd from 1-4pm with a time of sharing memories at 2pm. A graveside service for family will be held at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Matchedash in the Spring. As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and may be made through the funeral home.
