Obituary of Gordon "John" McKay
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Friday April 26, 2024 at the age of 69 with his family at his side.
Predeceased by his parents Gordon & Elizabeth “Betty” McKay. Beloved father of Heather Steele (Norris). Dear grandfather of Laura. Loved brother of Michael McKay, and Brenda Checanis (Bill), and the late Robert McKay. Cherished uncle of Tammy (Kurt), Michelle (Josh), Maureen (Ryan), and Shannon (Andrew). Will be lovingly remembered by his many great nieces and nephews.
The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia for their care and support.
The family will honour John’s life with a visitation at the Coldwater Funeral Home, Coldwater on Saturday May 4th from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm. Interment Waubaushene Protestant Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of John may be made to the Dialysis Unit of the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or to Diabetes Canada and may be made through the Funeral Home.
