Obituary of Elva Ruth Laughlin
Passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Saturday December 7, 2024 at the age of 102, of Coldwater. Predeceased by her husbands Mervin Vivian (1960) and Norman Laughlin (2009). Loving mother of Joan Dunne, June Pringle (Paul), Robert Vivian (Cathy), and Norma Douglas (Alan).
Survived by her grandchildren Kelly Brown (Will), Kathy Acheson (Joe), John Dunne (Teresa), Charlotte Vivian (Barry), Brian Dunne, George Lye, Elvis Vivian (Isabel), Brittany Eastman (Mat), Kyle Douglas, and Spencer Douglas, by her great grandchildren Jenny Lye, Shannon Hickling (Tyler), Tony Brown (Becca), Vanessa Jones (Adam), Jordan Lye (Jessica), Justin Acheson (Paige), Tori Vivian (Billy), Brody Moreau, Jacob Dunne, Johnathan Mackay, Taylor Dunne, Kylie Lye, Bella Eastman, Emma Vivian, and Hunter Vivian, by her great-great grandchildren Haillie Frankum (Kurtis), Ashton Frankum, Tayja Robbins, Jack Hickling, Sophie Hickling, Mia Vivian, Aleah Jones, Liam Russell, Evelyn Hickling, Avalee Jones, Carter Turbide, Mason Lye, Elizabeth Acheson, and Nova Lye, and by her great-great-great grandchildren Octavia Frankum, and Terry-David Frankum.
Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Ethel Davis and by her siblings Edna Pennell, Howard Davis, Norman Davis, Sidney Davis, Earl Davis, Wallace Davis, Lloyd Davis, and Thelma Kinch.
Elva requested to be cremated and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Elva may be made to the R.C.L. Branch #270, Coldwater “Ladies’ Auxiliary’” and may be made through the Funeral Home.
