Our sincere condolences to the VanderGeest family. Marie was a very good friend to my mother, Elizabeth Power, at Orillia Independent Living. Her ready smile & friendly manner made her one of our favourite residents in the retirement home. Orillia won't be the same without Marie pushing her walker up and down its sidewalks. I am a PSW at Reachview Village and Marie was one of my primary residents. She was always so easygoing and a real pleasure to care for. The last shift I worked with her she gave me a lovely Christmas gift-maple syrup. I will think of Marie every time my daughter and I enjoy this gift and I will remember the gift of having known Marie, even if it was only for a short time.
