I had the pleasure of meeting Bob and Irene Rice back in 2005. I attended my first Remembrance day back then and was introduced to this fantastic couple. I am saying and using them because ever since I met Irene it was always here and Bob at the hip and that was pretty good since Bob was from Scotland and Irene was from England. Every Remembrance Day I would travel to Coldwater just to spend that day with them. First we would attend the parade, Irene and myself watched as Bob either marched in the Parade or took the Salute. Then we all retired to the Legion to have a few drinks and chat with the members. After which Irene always insisted that I return with them to their house where we had supper. Then we would sit in the little living room and I would be told tales of when Irene was a little girl in England and how she survived the Blitz and came to Canada and worked on the Avro Arrow in Toronto. This lady was incredible. They treated me like family and today I feel as if I lost both parents.
Irene you will always be in my heart and I will always remember the times we had together....Thank you
RIP MUM !!!!!
