Dear Susan,
I’m so very sorry for your loss.
This comes as an absolute shock to me as I only found out this morning.
I’ve known Ron since Richmond Hill Hydro Days. Many of us fondly referred to him as “Mr Tweedy”
He was a great coworker & friend to many of us.
Sincere condolences to you & the entire family

Thank you for your kind words. He would often come home and share his day with me and tell me about the people in the office. I know he did not spend a lot of time there but he had good memories of those he dealt with on a daily basis. Thank you again. Susan

Deeply Saddened when I found out of the passing of Ron. Sending my deepest condolences to Sue, Colleen, Donny, & the rest of the family. I had the privilege to know Ron as a childhood friend of Donny and once again working with him years later at the Hydro (PowerStream). I always enjoyed seeing him around the office with that contagious smile and laugh you could hear down the hall. He always spoke so proudly about his family and grandkids. I remember seeing him on the ice as a kid officiating our games as the ref. He a super involved in Newmarket minor hockey from what I remember. Sad day. - Geoff Walters

Thank you. I came across the pictures we took when Ron and I played Mixed Doubles in Palmerston. It made me remember a better time and put a smile on my face. It was not his favourite game but did it for me and he did well. He much prefered the 4 man team.

My heart aches on hearing of the untimely passing of my friend and curling buddy, Ron.
I had so much fun at The Club, league curling on his team. He had a wonderful
sense of humour that lite up a room and I can still hear and remember his robust laugh.
I am sure he would say from above "cherish the good times and keep your friends and family close".
My thoughts and condolences are with all his family, especially Susan.
God Bless

So very sorry to hear about Ron’s passing. He coached our daughter Melanie in Newmarket. At a time when females in the boys league was not popular Ron made a bold move a picked her for the AA team. He took a lot of negative comments for that. We never forgot his courage. We appreciated his sense of humor, kindness and strength of character. All our sympathies and love to his family❤️

Thank you Nora
I remember Melanie and you. Colleen took up goaltending because of her. Ron often would tell the story of you asking him if there was a place for her to change before the pregame talk with the team and the one time he said something to the effect 'She wants her own room, next she will want to vote!'. He did enjoy coaching her and followed how she was doing with her hockey quest.

WowZ, Devastating news. I can just imagine Ron joking, shockingly, to the train’s driver that he is having to get off at the wrong stop. We know when you are born each of us is given a oneway ticket, and quite honestly we hope its for a destination where we feel amazing and grateful for the life we have led. Surprises on our life’s trip are ok, but the final stop is something we cannot, for the most part, manage.
We are so privileged to have known Ron and shared curling and laughter with him.
Heartfelt condolences and love to Susan and all the family.

We are so sorry to hear the sad news of Ron. Ron had a great sense of humor and loved to tell those interesting funny stories that always seem to catch your attention no matter how long it was. We would play golf together a few times, and he would always beat me bragging about how good his shots were :). He was a loving father and husband and enjoyed his grandkids emensely. Go for that "hole in one" in heaven Ron, you deserve it. Our sincere condolences to Ron's family.

Thank you Shayne. Ron would often mention you when he got to telling his hockey stories. He enjoyed those coaching years very much. He kept a scrap book of the accomplishments of the teams he coached as well as articles he found after the players had moved on from his team. He was proud of your reaching your goal of playing in the NHL
