SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE
Obituary of Edward John "Si" Laurin
Passed away peacefully in his 82nd year on October 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of missed greens, hockey tips, unwavering positivity, and zest for life. He now rejoins his beloved wife, Helen Susanne (Sue), in eternal rest.
Si was a devoted father to sons Steve and Scott, and a loving father-in-law to SuEllen and Tammy. To his cherished grandchildren Brayden, Mickenna, Mitchell, and Matthew, he was more than just a Papa, he was their beacon of positivity and boundless love. He was also a dear companion and friend to Marnie.
A memorial service to celebrate his remarkable life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Barrie Country Club from 1pm to 4pm with a few words and a champagne toast at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County, Barrie in honor of Si's memory and may be made through the funeral home.
Si's legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering appreciation for life will endure as a testament to the power of maintaining a positive outlook despite life’s challenges. May he rest in peace, may he have infinite hole-in-ones, and may his radiant positivity continue to inspire us all.
