I’ve known many of the Gills over the years, but I worked with Harold at the Severn Falls Fire Headquarters. He was a pleasure to work with and a mentor. He was always free with his advice in a patient and kind way, lord knows I was probably impulsive in my ways. He was so much fun to work with. He always had a funny story and laugh profusely. Lil was a real treasure as well. It’s my prayer that your family finds peace and joy in his memory.
All of my condolences sincerely Jim and Jean Abbott

My fondest memory of harold goes back about 40 yrs. He would always come looking for me as a partner to do polka dances at local events, it was so much fun! He was truly a treasure, as was lily.
Sincerely, Leslie Muir nee Appleyard

Cousin Harold always made me feel so special whenever I was in his company. It was like the sun rose and set on me and he always wanted to hear more of what I had been doing. You gravitate to people like that and never forget them. Lil was very similar; but she let Harold do most of the talking. I loved them both and had been thinking of Harold almost daily this past couple of months. RIP dear soul!

Ken and I are sorry to hear of Harold’s passing. No matter how old we are it’s always hard to lose a loved one. Harold was such a sweetheart. I’ve known him all my life as a man that always had a smile or would tease the daylights out of you. He and Lil were a match most strive for. Ken and Harold worked together at the MNR. At least they were supposed to be working but it sounded more like fun.
He and Lil can now dance as much as they want. Keep your memories close and bring them out when you need them most. They will be the hug or joke you need. You are in our thoughts.
