Obituary of Johannes "Jo" Hartjes
Passed away peacefully at his cottage on Six Mile Lake in the evening of Saturday July 20, 2024 just shy of his 95th birthday. Predeceased by his cherished and beloved wife Ann (February 2024). Loving father of Jo-Ann, Audrey (Tim), and Peter. Loved grandfather of Jeannette, Timothy (Melissa), Brittany, Harry (Heather), and Christopher (Clare). Dear great grandfather of Blake, Kyeleigh, and Logan. Brother of Marietje Van Den Hanenberg and brother-in-law of John & Jean Minten, Helen Minten, and Lily Stelter. Predeceased by his siblings Theo Hartjes, Antoon Hartjes, Annie Hartjes, Bertha Verwey, Tonnie Van De Coevering, and Rienus Hartjes.
Following cremation a service for Jo will be held at the Coldwater Legion, Coldwater on Monday July 29th at 1pm. Following the service family and friends are invited to remain at the Legion for the reception.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Jo may be made to The Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, Rosseau, the Matchedash Community Heritage Centre or to the Coldwater Heritage Mill and may be made through the funeral home.
